Today we left our house at 8:00 and went to Saint Peter’s Basilica. We took a tour of the space under the basilica which was really cool and then looked around the main floor. We left around noon for our tour of the Vatican Museum and when we got there the was a giant line. Luckily, we were saved from that by our tour guide Francesca who got us in a special entrance. But did she really save us time? It turned into a 3 hour tour most of which was spent sitting outside in the cold wind looking at pictures of the Sistine Chapel instead of actually going inside and when she left we found at least three huge, really cool exhibits that Francesca had skipped in favor of sitting outside staring a pictures. Then we got pizza, walked around and saw some more churches, fountains, and the Spanish steps, got gelato, and then went back to our apartment.
