Vatican City, Rome

Today we went to the Vatican City and saw numerous buildings. The first building we saw was St. Peter’s Basilica. My sister, mom, and grandparents all went on the underground tour, but I couldn’t go because you had to be fifteen. Instead, my two other sisters, my dad, and I went up more than 300 stairs to the very top of the dome. On the way up, the hallway started slanting to one side because of the dome, and some of the stairs were super tiny. The next place we walked to was the Vatican Museum. There we saw the Sistine chapel, and our tour guide, Francesca, showed us around. But she took two hours outside talking about the Sistine Chapel even though there was an entire Egyptian section that we missed. After Francesca left, we went to the Egyptian section for a bit. Then, the elevator we took down was really nice. It had benches inside. Finally we had gelato and went home.
