Pompeii

This weekend we went to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Mom and Dad wouldn’t let me take my phone because they were worried about pickpockets so I don’t have a pictures. However, it was a really cool experience. On the drive we listened to a Rick Steves tour of Pompeii. We all paid attention because Mom said that there would be a quiz at the end and if you got the answer right you would earn a skittle. By the time we got to Pompeii, we knew more about it then we ever wanted to, right down to what the number of bumps in the road mean. The next day, we went to Mount Vesuvius. Unfortunately, it is kind of a rip off. By the time we got through parking, shuttles, and entry fee, we had spent 65 euro and still had a thirty minute walk ahead of us before we actually saw the crater in the top of the mountain. You do get several amazing views along the hike though! As a comparison, getting into the city of Pompeii (which was much cooler in my opinion) cost only 36 euro.
