“Stay hungry, stay uncomfortable, stay in the same Airbnb just until you get comfortable then leave and find the next adventure.” – Booker T Washington
We said goodby to Rome today. Somewhat sad. But we’ll be back! The train left at 12:15 so we were nervous about making it there on time. So we left too early at 10am and waited for about 1.5 hours for the train.
Trudie and the kids filled the time with card games. Turns out there are not a lot of places to sit in Roma Termini.
On a sadder note my mom ate something that did not sit well with her so it knocked her out for the day. She was tough and went along though I’m pretty sure today was pretty miserable for her. She tried to sleep the day away. We hope tomorrow is better for her.
When we finally got on the train we loved it.
The ride was over less than 1.5 hours and we were in Florence. For me it was love at first site. We walked to our Airbnb which is right by Ponte Vecchio. So beautiful. Right in the heart of it all. The views from the three balconies are way too fancy for us and all this sun is just too crazy.
After settling in we walked around and got some cool sandwiches for 4€ each. Then it was time for our 4:15 reservation to see the David. He did not disappoint.
From there more gelato
Then we just walked around.
There’s a grocery store on the other side of Ponte Vecchio we went to to stock up. Now we are cozy in bed.
