“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face”\u00a0 – Ghandi, Shirley Temple or Mike Tyson.\u00a0 Not sure which.\u00a0 Probably Ghandi.<\/p>\n

The plan started out innocently enough:\u00a0 Let’s go see Rome.\u00a0 I had been there in 2016 on work and after walking around I vowed:\u00a0 I must come back with the family!\u00a0 They must see this!\u00a0 And so I tossed a coin into the Trevi fountain because this is how you ask the travel gods to make these things happen.<\/p>\n

This plan went on the back burner as we went to Germany and had some other really cool trips in between.\u00a0 (Not documented on this blog).\u00a0 But then scottscheapflights.com<\/a> entered my life and everyday I got emails telling me of incredible deals to everywhere in the world.\u00a0 Singapore, Australia, Norway, Morocco, etc.\u00a0 But then it came:\u00a0 Portland to Italy.\u00a0 $461 round trip.\u00a0 How could I say no?\u00a0 Boom, we bought the tickets and why not let’s just bring everyone?\u00a0 Asked my mom and dad to come along and a 10 day trip of Italy was born.\u00a0 We bought our Rick Steve’s books, mapped out every trip, got some nice places to stay (we’ll see) and an innocent spring break trip (though a bit extravagant) was born.<\/p>\n

But then we got ridiculous. And thought: Perhaps we could stay a bit longer. \u00a0I work with people all over the world so perhaps just maybe it could. And then it did. \u00a0So we decided to not come home the 29th of March.\u00a0 Now we’re coming home May 22nd.\u00a0 And what was an Italy trip, has expanded into this:<\/p>\n

Plus a billion side trips.\u00a0 So now we’re 10 days out and yeah, most everything is in place.\u00a0 3 months around central Europe. \u00a04 weeks in Italia, 3 weeks in Barcelona, and a few weeks in between. \u00a0Here goes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
